  • Easter Services at Life Church March 31st & April 1st

Top 5 Reasons to invite your friend to church for Easter:
    1. 82% of people invited to an Easter Service will likely attend (Dr. Thom Rainer – The Unchurched Next Door)
    2. Two Words: Free Coffee
    3. 7 out of 10 unchurched people have never been invited to church. (Dr. Thom Rainer – The Unchurched Next Door)
    4. 2% of people who attend church will do so because of a church advertisement compared to 86% who attend because they were invited by someone they know. (The Inviting Church)
    5. You might be inviting them to the place they belong.
The truth of the matter is, there are A LOT of people who would come to church on Easter Sunday if they were simply invited.
Why don’t we do it?  Maybe it’s because it feels like we’re confronting them. If feels that by saying they need Jesus, we can see things in their life that need to be fixed. If feels like we’re coming at them from a condescending point of view. It’s the same reason we don’t say something to someone we love when they’re dating someone that is bad for them. We don’t want to offend them.
However, instead of being motivated by fear, we should be motivated by love. What if we are motivated by our love for them and our love of God?
“Because we love God so much, we can’t not invite someone. Wouldn’t that be a complete change of perspective? Instead of inviting someone because we don’t want them to get the “bad stuff” that’s coming if they don’t, we invite them because our love of God is so overwhelming that we can’t help but share it with the people around us. Instead of being motivated by guilt because the pastor is begging me to invite someone, I’m motivated by my love for the person I’m going to invite. – From Author David Lindne

    Toolbox Talk

The Tool: Student Wellness-Handling Depression, Anxiety, and Suicide

According to the Riverview Community Health Assessment for Hamilton County, depression and anxiety are a top health concern for residents. Life Church Fishers Campus is hosting an evening to equip parents and students with tools on how to deal with matters of suicide, anxiety and depression. Heidi Kelly, MSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker who deals with parents and teens, will bring a Biblical world view on the topics of depression, anxiety and suicide. There will be a presentation to inform and educate, followed by a Q and A. We would like for students and parents to have separate opportunities to engage and ask questions, so that both parties can feel at liberty to ask questions that they feel are relevant to them. The students session will be held on Thursday, April 19th from 6:30-8:30pm. The following Sunday, April 22nd, parents are invited for their session from 6-7:30pm.
